Zelda commercial for A Link To The Past. (japanese)
WOW. This has got to be the best commercial ever. I want to learn that dance. Note: I actually found this video and the one I posted earlier seperately. This must be either an amazing coincidence or a divine message sent to me by the gods.
Okey dokey. Here's an amusing story. So today was a surgery day for my mom- 2 back to back. As usual, she had her happy music playing in the backround. And to make things better, she started renaming all the tools. She actually made the team refer to things as the "happy" clamp, the "glad" scalpel, etc. She even told them that if any one else used the same forceps she had used, they had to tell the surgeon they were called "my favorite" forceps. And it get's better. After they had finished the 1st surgery and were moving on to the 2nd, she told the team they could ask her any question. But they didn't have any, so she told them, "The answer is 42." and "It's true what they say about cranberry juice." They had no idea what she was talking about, so she explained and then continued telling them some of the most random interesting facts, such as the stories of how mesquite trees and tumbleweeds came to grow in our area, the causes and treatments of infertility-- whatever came to mind. Usually when someone comes in to relieve someone, the people always argue over who gets to leave. However, THIS time, none of them wanted to leave, so someone finally had to say, "Okay, I'll go...But I'll be right back!"
Yeah. So my mom's that awesome. I must say though, I am definately my mother's daughter.
Cool thing #2
So, I guess the PSAT scores are being released to colleges now. I got, not one, but TWO letters today. Yeah- Emory University and University of Miami WANT me. (Though I wouldn't be surprised if everyone else is getting the exact same ones.)
Ahem. Well, I suppose I'll start this post off with a big birthday wish to my mom, my dad, and Gracie.
Happy Birthday, Everybody!!!
Anyway, I'm totally get THIS for Christmas. :3 As you know, I have a thing for anime with "awkward situations," making this a great one for me. It says so in the preview.
Yo. So you should all check out Ayaka's Surprise English Lessons. Yeah. They're pretty funny. And does any one else notice the trend where she rewards them with food? It seems to me they're sending a message- Learn English and you can eat as much as you want and get fat like those silly Americans!
It's been too long since I've had a real post. Here's something.
You may or may not have heard about my trip to Dallas last weekend. Here's the story. On Friday, we flew to Dallas and drove to our hotel. We stayed at that cool hotel that's part of a mall. There must have been some sort of event going on because there were tons of kids dressed up in Halloween costumes. Some of them were ice skating on the rink in the middle of the mall. That's where I saw the awesome girl dressed up as Robin doing all those cool tricks. <3 Anyway, we had dinner and were just walking around when we decided to go into this one store to see if they had any cool Halloween stuff. That's where we got my cool new choker. <3 Saturday. The Total Immersion freestyle workshop started at 8:15. It was held at this cool all girls private school. To be honest, I didn't really enjoy the first day. I was probably the best swimmer in the class, which meant that the head guy, Bob Wiskera, just HAD to use ME as an example whenever I made a mistake. Argh! Of course, the reason for this is that I would only make one mistake on a certain thing, unlike the others, who would make several. Anyway, the other coaches weren't so bad. There was Canadian woman, and Dave (who is going to DOUBLE CROSS the English Channel next summer), and one other woman who's name I can't remember. Perhaps the reason I can't remember her name is because in my head I kept thinking of her as the coach that was exactly like Dr. Bailey from Grey's Anatomy. I'm serious- the resemblance was so close it's scary. They have the same face and they talk the same way (although the coach's was a bit higher pitched). Yeah. So the other swimmers- there were two teenage boys and everyone else was in their mid-thirties or older. There was a 69-year-old guy named Basil. That's a cool name. Basil. One of the boys was Gracie's age. He was really thin, but his mother! My gosh, she was HUGE. She was so huge that ONE of her breasts was bigger than her head! (note: this is NOT and exaggeration.) It was pretty gross. On the topic of gross- I seriously wish those women had some modesty. I do not want to see middle aged women naked. Back on topic: They filmed us twice. That was kinda interesting. We switched back and forth between the pool and the classroom, swimming then learning what we did wrong. It finally ended at about 4 in the afternoon. We went back to the hotel, eventually had dinner, and went to bed. We really didn't have the energy for anything else. I don't know about my mom and Gracie, but I was not tired from the work in the pool. I had gotten barely any sleep the night before. We all know I have enough trouble getting to sleep normally, but with Gracie sleeping next to me BREATHING REALLY LOUDLY it was pretty impossible to get sleep. So on Saturday night I wore earplugs. Didn't help- my mom was snoring. SO at about 2:15 AM, I went into the bathroom with my pillow and tried sleeping on the floor with towels for blankets. That worked fairly well except that I woke up about every 20 minutes. At around 5, I went back to bed. =_= Sunday morning, we checked out the hotel and went back to the girls' school. The workshop started at 7:45. It would have started at 8:45, but Bob let us start early because going by daylight saving might screw us up and some of us had flights to catch. It wasn't so bad, although Bob STILL pulled me in front of the entire class to demonstrate stuff. There were over 20 people; why couldn't he use other people at least SOMETIMES? They filmed us two more times. After the last filming, Dave asked to see my breaststroke. I tried really hard to focus on what Coach D has told me to do, and after a 25, Dave gave me his evalutation. Apparently, by doing what I've been told, my technique is best for the 200 breast- not the 100 or the 50. Dang it, coach! The course ended at 3:15 and we went straight to the airport from there. We finally got home at around 8 in the evening. I didn't have time to do anything for school at all. (Which is why I'm SO glad Mr. Roberts reduce the week's reading down to 6 chapters.)
So how did my new freestyle technique hold up at practice on Monday? While swimming 300's behind Evan, I couldn't help but think "Oh my gosh! It works!" Same thing happened on Friday (Didn't go to swimming on Tuesday, backstroke clinic on Wednesday, Brad coached on Thursday). Yeah. It's pretty cool. And it has confirmed one thing. I'm a distance swimmer. Which means I may have to do the 500 from now on like Brad wants me to. :'(
Yeah, so that's about it. I've also got what I'm going for Red Ribbon Week all planned out. It's gonna be some pretty rad "social suicide".
